InetSoft announces e-reporting solution Style Report version 4.5

Piscataway, NJ . November 27, 2002-- InetSoft Technology, a leading provider of e-reporting solutions, has now made available the official release of version 4.5 of Style Report™. New features incorporated into version 4.5 include: streaming report data, report creation from scratch on the web, managed datasets, report prioritization, and SVG export functionality.

Reports can now be progressively generated without waiting for all of your report data to be retrieved. Reports pages will be sent to the browser as soon as they are generated which, in the end, amounts to a superior response time, especially for large reports. Generate a 1000 page report and wait no longer than the time it takes to generate the first page before you can begin viewing the report in your browser.

Additionally, the web based Composer has been enhanced to support report creation from scratch. The developer now has 2 choices to give to end users. The first choice, as supported in version 4.4, is to provide the end user with a starting point - a predefined template. The second choice, new in version 4.5, is to build the report from scratch based on individual components the developer has exposed. The components could be a single report element or a collection thereof.

Finally, report prioritization and dataset management capabilities work to boost Style Report™'s performance even more. Users now have the capability to set report generation priority. This will prevent large reports from blocking normal usage and allow for better resource distribution. To complement this, Style Report™ has introduced managed datasets, whereby large datasets are paged to disk to conserve memory. Combining dataset management with the already robust caching mechanism, users will find that larger reports can be created more efficiently with less of a strain on resources.

In conclusion, the 4.5 release includes several powerful performance enhancements as well as significant end user features. Streaming data, an enhanced web based composer, report prioritization, and dataset management capabilities ensure superior performance and maximum end user self service - two goals which are extremely important in the ever-evolving e-reporting market.
