InetSoft 9.5 Release Notes

Introduction

InetSoft 9.5 is a minor release. Feature enhancements were made over 9.1 in the following areas:

• Improved Visual Composer
• Embedded Materialized View
• Drag and Drop Portlet Dashboard Layout
• Localization Improvements
• Incremental Deployment Enhancements
• Ad Hoc Reporting Features

 

Visual Composer

The Visual Composer was improved in many small ways. The most noticeable are:

• Faster responsiveness due to port from Flash to Flex
• Ability to rebind viewsheets to a different worksheet

Embedded Materialized View

In 9.1 we provided creation of Materialized Views in the database to improve query performance for Viewsheets. We have extended this concept further by allowing scheduled persistance of Worksheet assemblies on the InetSoft server in an optimized data structure with an in-memory index.

Drag and Drop Portlet Dashboard Layout

Further adding to our Web 2.0 portfolio, we have enhanced the portlet dashboard layout design interface to support AJAX drag-and-drop.

Localization Improvements

With more global customers who serve many countries, i18n is of growing importance. The enhancements include:

• Improved date localization in report header and footer
• Allow localization of form element labels, and logical model names and descriptions
• Automatic localization of Data Model fields in table headers

Incremental Deployment Enhancements

This new feature in 9.1 was widely adopted as a best practice. To support this, we have added:

• Ability to deploy user scope reports and assets
• Independent deployment of logical models, physical views, and VPMs

Ad Hoc Reporting Features

With more customers embracing ad hoc design, we added these capabilities:

• Improved section layout includes field binding
• Wizards support large Data Models with improved performance, and field search
