Piscataway, NJ – May 20, 2004 - InetSoft Technology has announced
the general availability of Style Report™ 6.0. Along with many new feature
enhancements to the existing Style Report editions, InetSoft
introduces a new member to the Style Report family, Style Report/Analytic
Edition, which is introduced with a host of ad hoc reporting tool and analytic
tool functionalities.
Style Report/Analytic Edition is built on top of the powerful and
successful Enterprise Edition. The design goal for Style Report/Analytic
Edition is to resolve the conflict between powerful data analysis
and ease-of-use in a zero client Web environment. Style Report/Analytic
Edition innovatively breaks up analytic needs into small, easy to
learn, and easy to use components. End users will be able to cherry-pick
the components that are relevant to what they need and greatly reduce
the complexity.
Simplified, yet more powerful Ad hoc reporting is the first area
where Style Report/Analytic Edition clearly stands out. Ad hoc reporting
itself is divided into small components. An existing report or an
empty template typically serves as the starting point for Ad hoc
reporting. Then, small components of the report can be individually
worked upon without disturbing other parts of the report or data.
For example, altering the summarization level will only require
changing the grouping component, which is controlled by a small web
page. End users will be able to navigate and explore these components
as they would explore and navigate through a Website, thus allowing
them to become highly productive and self-sufficient in a short
amount of time.
For more dynamic analysis that requires OLAP server functionality, Style
Report/Analytic Edition’s innovation is once again evident.
The greatest difficulty facing most OLAP reporting users is the expensive process required
to setup OLAP databases, install a host of new business intelligence query software and business analytic software on both
client and server, and finally populate the database with meaningful
data. This process is not only expensive but also has a very high
failure rate. Style Report/Analytic Edition addresses this problem
head-on. For Style Report, the first step of OLAP is ROLAP, which is not much different from a regular report.
Without any changes,
or even the addition of new tables in the database, relational data can be viewed by
Style Report in dimensions and cubes. The simplicity of our ROLAP
product allows any user to try out the sophisticated analysis without
having to actually implement a large project. For users who do extensive
analysis, multi-dimensional databases will provide better performance.
However, even for those users, the ROLAP experience is extremely valuable
and is the key factor in preventing failure. Once a multi-dimensional
database is properly setup and populated, Style Report/Analytic
Edition can be simply switched to point to it. This incremental
capability will deliver great value for all end users.
Real time alerting is another key function that is closely linked
to ad hoc reporting. The combination of ad hoc reporting and alerts allow
end users to get real time reporting on the events they have defined
through reports. When not properly controlled, business intelligence KPI projects sometimes have been viewed as costly, time-sucking productivity
killers. Style Report/Analytic Edition’s real time alerts
provide a truly effective weapon to fight against wasted time.
“Style Report Analytic Edition 6.0 is a great milestone in Style Report’s history”, said Luke Liang, Director of Marketing at InetSoft. “Our customers highly value the customer-in-the-driver's-seat approach of our product lineup. With this new member of the Style Report family, we greatly extend how far our customers can grow
