InetSoft 9.1 Release Notes

Introduction

InetSoft 9.1 is a minor feature release. Feature enhancements were made in the following areas:

• Administration improvements: Incremental deployment and impact/dependency analysis.
• Performance enhancements to database access.
• Data modeling features: Automatic hyperlinks and default formats.
• Enhanced map features.
• Visualization improvements in worksheets and viewsheets.

Incremental Deployment and Impact/Dependency Analysis

Several improvements have been made to the administrative interface, the Enterprise Manager:

• New capabilities for import and export of individual report assets/deliverables. This simplifies the process of rolling out an upgrade.
• New audit reports to inform the administrator about depended and dependent components.

Performance

Several performance enhancements improve the user experience:

• Improved caching to limit the round trips to the data source.
• Improved query design and materialized view creation to speed up the response time of executed queries.

Data Modeling Features

Logical models and queries now support specification of hyperlinks and data formats, both of which are automatically applied to any reports or viewsheets that use those models/queries.

Map Component

A new map database and new user interface allow for continuous zoom and pan through seven geographic levels.

Visualization and Exploration (Style Scope)

Several improvements add flexibility to viewsheets and worksheets:

• Highlights added to a crosstab will also be shown in the chart view.
• Worksheet users can easily import CSV files to mashup their local data with that of the enterprise.
• Hyperlinks to reports and the web can now be added to viewsheet elements.
