InetSoft Technology Releases Style Report 3.1 with Banded Report Component

Piscataway, NJ - September 4, 2000 - InetSoft Technology Corp, the leading company in Java-based reporting tools, has announced the release of Style Report™ 3.1, which is now available for distribution.

Style Report 3.1 introduces banded reports as a new report element, called a "section". Many software developers have experience using traditional report writers that only support banded reports. The section element in Style Report allows this experience to be applied directly in the new environment.

Since banded reports are a report element, they can be mixed with other powerful elements in the flow based report. This feature provides a smooth migrating path for developers with traditional report writer background. For example, reports may be designed with section elements only at the beginning, which can then be gradually improved with more powerful Style Report features.

One important feature of banded reports is that elements inside a band are in fixed sizes and fixed positions. In applications that contain predominately fixed positions and fixed sized elements, sections offer a new option for report design. For example, a mail label printing application can be easily accomplished using a section element.

"One key task for InetSoft, as a developer tool vendor, is to bridge the gap between accumulated knowledge and the new programming paradigm. The section element in Style Report is a perfect example," said Luke Liang, Marketing Director of InetSoft Technology Corporation. "The really nice aspect is that Style Report makes the transition a non-interruptive, continuous process."
